Issues of LUCID 12-Inch Memory Foam Mattress

The slight smell

This bed comes with a slight “new mattress” odor. If you are sensitive to the odor, leaving fans on and window open will help it dissipate quickly. Generally, the odor will be gone in a day.

Quality control issue 

According to owner reports, we find most of them complained their mattresses lost firmness in one or two years. As they told, the mattress was great and very comfortable at first but after one year it didn’t offer any support or develop uncomfortable body indents. The issue happened to both overweight and lightweight people. When the mattress got soft, owner’s back lost support and got aches. That would not be a real problem if only one or two buyers complained but it’s ranking top on the list of owner complaints. Both manufacturers and we customers need to pay attention to. It implies the mattress may not hold up over the time. There must be some problems with quality control. Hope LUCID set a stricter manufacturing standard for their China contract factories and improve quality. If not, they will lose all customers.

FYI: The mattress weighs over 80 pounds. It’s very heavy and becomes bulky after unwrapped, not easy to move into the room. You’d better put it on your frame before you open it.
